Kick the American Suffering Habit

Donación protegida
Suffering is the least recognized, most widespread addiction of our time. And nobody talks about it.

I'm committed to instigating a national conversation on the topic so suffering is recognized, not as the natural state of our being, but as a condition we can transform so we can live more lightheartedly.

I need a national platform for this conversation. The funds will be used to attend a national media summit in New York City, April 22-25, 2015, where I'll have the opportunity to meet TV producers and magazine editors, such as CNN and Oprah Magazine.

My background includes meeting Mother Teresa, becoming a counselor with the terminally ill, co-founding a hospice, serving as US Foreign Service Officer in the White House, leading support groups for Parkinson's' patients, and prisoners in federal and state penitentiaries. Currently, I coordinate an all volunteer program, Share The Care, to help alleviate caregiver burnout. MA in psychology, Goddard College,1981, and author of Coming Home, A Practical and Compassionate Guide to Caring for a Dying Loved One and Lighten Up, Seven Ways to Kick the Suffering Habit.

Much  of the suffering in today's world is caused by people lacking basic necessities - food, shelter, employment, and some degreee of security.  While you and I, individually, can't alleviate economic inequality, we can heal a personal suffering habit or addiction, if we have one.  And we can bring the national suffering addiction to publc awareness so it too can be healed.

I would be honored to have your support. Together, we have the potential to help a lot of people.
