Thanks for visiting the website for our upcoming GoRuck Heavy Challenge. Our mission is to complete the GoRuck Heavy Challenge on 06 December 2013 in order to raise money for a cause we believe in. The challenge will last 24 hours, but will we? By completing the GoRuck Heavy challenge, we seek to honor the true heroes, the ones who were wounded in the service of our country. If you choose to sponsor us, we will pass on any donations we receive to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Wounded Warrior Project Wounded Warrior Project is a veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, service and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of 9/11/2001. Both Chris and Greg were fortunate enough to deploy and come home unscathed, but many americans were not so fortunate. Wounded Warrior Project is one of the premier charities devoted to the cause of helping disabled veterans succeed and adjust back into society.

GoRuck GoRuck started as an outdoors gear company founded by special forces veterans, but quickly morphed into the organizer of the "GoRuck Challenge", a physical test of endurance designed to do inspire you to do more than you thought possible. These events draw participants who want to push themselves physically and mentally. Over the course of 24 hours, we will "ruck" (hiking with a weighted pack) while conducting physically challenging tasks throughout the Washington, DC area. These tasks include, but are not limited to swimming, push ups, pull ups, obstacle courses, or any other surprises the GoRuck Heavy cadre have in mind. The minimium wieght for this challenge is 30 pounds in the pack.
From the GoRuck website, "GORUCK Heavy is a 24+ hour dose of Special Operations training. It is not for the faint of heart, but our hope is that all who start will finish together. There will be more physical and mental stress, which means more leadership and teamwork training "“ than in GORUCK Light or the GORUCK Challenge "“ some lessons can only be learned through time, and 24+ hours is a lot of time."
