Donald Tennant is an integral part of so many subcultures in New Orleans, it's hard to know where to start. He is active in the wasteland, the larp and the gaming community here. He has opened his home to wayward steampunks from all over the world, and offered up both shelter and delicious lasagne to all who found themselves on his doorstep. Including me. If it were not for Don, our transition to New orleans would have been miserable. But he was there for us even though he had only met us once for half an hour. And he has been there for countless people before and after us as well.
But now he needs our help. Don was diagnosed last week with stage 4 lymphoma. The doctors have come up with a treatment plan and there is hope he will get better. Don is a fighter and is one of the strongest, kindest men I know. If anyone can beat this, it is him. But being in the hospital means not being able to work, and funds have run out.
Please help us keep Don above water with both his personal needs as well as travel for his family from Oklahoma. Every little bit helps to both meet his needs as well as letting him know that people out there care. Our goal is $5000 to start, but if we can get him more that would be great.
