5km a day in May - Homeless Charity
Donation protected
I'm delighted to be donating and volunteering at The Iveagh Trust Hostel in my local area of Dublin 8. This is the largest homeless facility in the country, housing 196 men every night. As you know, homelessness continues to be a huge issue throughout Ireland. The COVID-19 pandemic has put an extra strain on homeless services with overcrowding now a major issue in hostels.
To combat this, I will be working alongside a group of residents, assisting them with their career options going forward and using this downturn as an opportunity for them to upskill across a number of online courses that my donation will fund. This will give each participating resident the best chance of securing employment in the future and hopefully towards a better life.
To raise extra funds for The Iveagh Trust Hostel - myself, Noel McGinnity and Stephen Lacey will be running a combined 465km (155km each) over the month of May - 5km a day. Any donations are greatly appreciated!
