PR3: Help for Haiyan Victims
Donation protected
Philippines: Relief·Rebuild·Restore ( PR3) HELP for Haiyan Victims is a small group of Filipino
American volunteers in Northwest Arkansas whose mission is to directly help the
victims of the monstrous Haiyan typhoon that hit the Philippines on November 8, 2013.
PR3 focuses on sending RELIEF
goods like food and clothing directly to those victims who are still struggling
with the devastation of Haiyan. We want to help REBUILD their homes and RESTORE
their livelihood.
Here are some of the tragedies:
SHEILA'S STORY
Last Week, we gave $400 to Sheila Czech, whose 97- year old grandmother lives in a tiny underground room in what is left of her typhoon ravaged home. It will cost thousands of US dollars to repair her roof. But our small donation of $400 will go a long ways.
FERDINAND AND DORIS QUIETA'S STORY
This week we hope to give financial assistance to a
couple in Cologcog, Tanuan, Leyte who lost their four children aged 11, 8, 5, and 1.5 years old in the typhoon.
The parents took their children to Chai's mom house since it was so much more
sturdily built. As fate would have it, the typhoon demolished Chai mother's house
and the seventeen (17) people inside were killed. The parents, whose own home
barely still exists, are spending all their time helping their neighbors who
were not reached with aid.
(This is the remnant of Chai' Quieta ( in white t-shirt above) mom's house where seventeen (17) members of the household perished).
Most of members of the PR3 are very lucky that their respective families in the Philippines were spared from the wrath of Haiyan. However, some of our members were not so fortunate. We are trying to help our volunteers' families revive their lives as well as those of our Kababayan ( neighbors) in the Visayas and Mindoro.
All the monetary and nonperishable donations will directly go to the victims. All the donations will be accounted for and published here and on our Facebook page account.
We deeply plead with everyone to help support our
cause. Your small donation of $10 will surely make a difference in the lives of
the victims. May God bless you a hundred fold!
Maraming Salamat!
Mabuhay Tayong Lahat!.
