A Marquis Co-worker In Need

Donation protected
We at Marquis Wilsonville Post Acute Rehab have a member of our work family that has been in a tragic accident. This young woman has been with Marquis for several years, first as an assistant in our Activities Department then felt the calling to do more with Seniors and those needing Skilled Rehab. Earning her Certified Nursing Aid License her nursing career started. She then took some time off to get married and start a family. Her dream though was to become a Nurse, so while away for this short time she went back to school and received her Licensed Practical Nurse Degree. We have been trying our best to support her and her family through our love, encouragement and emotional support, but are seeking additional help from our extended family and friends.
This young woman has had several years of tough challenges. A couple of years ago, when she left Marquis to pursue her Nursing Degree she also found herself caring for her mother who was in the end stages of her life. Then just one month ago she lost her father. In the last several months she learned she was pregnant, but sadly lost the child. She and her husband have an adorable little boy that keeps them plenty busy. She struggled with the loss of this second child only to her joy and excitement find out she was pregnant again.
Almost 10 days ago, while on her way to work tragedy struck. At about 6:30am she was in a horrible traffic accident and was Life Flighted to Emanuel Hospital in Portland only after her rescue team spent almost 45 minutes trying to free her from the wrecked car. She was rushed into surgery where they removed her spleen and later surgeries followed for other injuries sustained in this accident. She not only lost her spleen, but broke 5 ribs, shattered her hip, broke an arm, shattered her eye socket, broke her neck, but possibly the worst injury was the loss of her unborn child.
She has undergone several more surgeries and is doing well, out of ICU and looking forward to transferring to another Hospital soon. She and her husband had just recently purchased a home for their family and are now looking at mounting medical bills and lost wages. She is also looking at several months if not a year of intense Physical Therapy. All of her doctors are extremely pleased with her progress thus far and expect for her to return to a full and normal life with her family. She is blessed with a husband who has been at her side through it all and a sister that has lovingly volunteered to care for their two year old son.
Our hopes it that this tragic story will have a happy ending with the generous support of not only her family, Marquis Family and friends, but also others that this story may touch. During this season of giving, please consider helping a family who desperately needs financial assistance with the medical bills piling-up every day.
