Survey Campbell Lake Public Access Easements

Since the Alaska Landmine reported its first story  on Campbell Lake, things have gotten pretty loose! Less than three months after our initial story, the State of Alaska and Municipality of Anchorage issued a joint statement affirming that Campbell Lake is a public lake. It took less than three months to undo a six decade old fallacy that Campbell Lake is a private lake. But there's still one problem: accessing the lake via the public easements is difficult because they are not marked. 

A professional surveyor has offered to survey the easements at a reduced rate. Funds raised will be used to mark the access easements and create a 3D drone video showing their location. In addition to showing the exact locations of the current easements, this survey would also be a first step for creating developed trails. Everything created will be shared on the Landmine and made fully available to the public. The Landmine will not keep any funds raised--everything will go to the survey.
