Help George keep his home!

Without prejudice:

We are seeking your assistance in helping our dearest friend, who is a single mum and a full-time carer to her 11-year-old non-verbal autistic son & who has many health issues.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, she is being forced to be evicted by her own brother and is faced with coming up with a quarter share of the house she has lived in all of her life with her now deceased parents. Her brother wants their quarter share of the property with no regard for our friend's circumstances and her son's health and his special needs.

Our friend has always been there for her friends and family, and despite not being financially stable, she has always given and assisted with all that she has. She has contributed financially to the family home over the years, including a full bathroom renovation for the changing health issues of her aging parents.

Since her son was diagnosed with autism at two years of age, our friend has set up a safe and sensory-related home and backyard that enables her son to play in a very secure environment where he is unable to get out.

In August 2022, he had an accident that required him to undergo 8 surgeries and a skin graft to try to get him up and going again. They were in hospital for 3 weeks, and he is still recovering.

Being forced to leave is extremely sad and uprooting her son, who spends a great deal of time in the sensory areas, will result in a whole lot of other issues which he will struggle to cope with. If the home has to be sold, our friend will not be able to afford to buy another home with her share, and renting will be the only option. However, no landlord would allow extensive measures to prevent her son from being able to get out, and she would not be able to have the existing setup she has in her house for her son to utilize.

We are asking for your help to keep our friend and her son in their home. If you are able to make any financial contribution, it would be greatly appreciated. Your donation will go towards helping our friend to pay for her quarter share of the property and any legal fees associated with the eviction. Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of this single mum and her non-verbal autistic son.

We understand that everyone has their own story to tell but the possibility of becoming homeless with a child with special needs is a devastating situation for anyone to endure.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and we appreciate any support you can provide for our friend.
