This website is dedicated to raising money for medical and living expenses for parents (Jill Crawford Lutz & Matt Lutz) of micro-preemie, Finn Patrick Kelly Lutz, born October 12, 2013 at 9:05am, weighing 1lb 3 oz and 11.5 inches long.
Finn was born at 23 weeks 5 days. His prematurity was caused from Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. Two days before Finn's birth, his parents were told we lost his identical twin brother Jack. The boys were moni/di twins, which means two sacs, one placenta. The TTTS started because there was a large blood clot in a shared vein located in their placenta. It all happened so fast, in between weekly appointm...ents. The goal was to keep Finn in as long as possible. Finn had other plans and out he came!
Jill & Matt had the boys first names picked out for a while. After Jill found out they lost Jack, she went online to find middle names with special meanings. Jill was looking for a middle name for Jack, a hero name, because Jill & Matt believe he helped to save his brother's life. While doing this, a google suggestion was, "boy's names meaning warrior" Jill thought that was awesome, so she looked at the list and saw Finn was on it. They never knew it meant that! What a fitting name for their little boy. Now, everyone calls him Warrior Finn. In the end Jill & Matt never found a middle name off the list for Jack. They decided to go with Harmon, a family name from Matt's side. He was a solider in the Civil War, a hero!
In true warrior style Finn has overcome many of the challenges micro-preemie life brings. Although JIll & Matt have come a long way they still have a long road ahead. The NICU is celled a roller coaster ride although they leave out you're being dragged from the back by your ankles (a quote Jill read). Jill & Matt could not be getting through this without the miracle staff at the NICU in York Hospital, also the Maternity and Labor and Delivery team.
