Hello Family, Friends, and Anonymous Helpers!
For those who do not know, my girlfriend (Madisyn Napier) and I (Ryan Coonan) have been stirring up talks of traveling and exploring. Our entire lives have been consumed by sports that have carried us through the collegiate level. Now that our sport careers are at an end, we want to start the new chapter of our lives with a bang. Madisyn and I are very excited to announce that we have just been accepted into International Volunteer HQ, a program that supports underprivileged children. This is the world's most popular and affordable volunteer travel company and brings in 20-50 volunteers every month to less fortunate locations around the world.
We have decided that we are going to take on the journey this summer after Madisyn graduates from college. We are embarking on a six week adventure to Cape Town, South Africa! We are so excited and cannot wait to take on this great opportunity that will be truly life changing. Our 6 week trip would begin November 7th, 2016 to teach english and general education to kids from ages 6 -18 years old. Our weekday routine is to teach from 8am to 2pm everyday and our weekend routine allows us to explore and learn about the beautiful Cape Town, South Africa. This opportunity would not only allow us to make a huge impact in the lives of the children and Cape Town’s future, but it will also broaden our views and give us a great perspective on life upon completion of the 6 week program.
Our total goal amount in $5,500. This would cover all expenses for our trip including registration fees, airfare, travel insurance, vaccinations, visas, lodging, meals, and weekend activities. Most importantly, your donations will be going towards the development of the children of Cape Town. Also keep in mind that all donations, big and small, will be greatly appreciated from both Madisyn and I and will go a long way for a six week trip in Africa.
