Kappa Sigma Apple Cup Run for Veterans
Donation protected
This year marks the 35th anniversary of the
Kappa Sigma Apple Cup Run. The Apple Cup Run takes place the week of the Apple Cup November 25th-30th.
The first people running the game ball will leave Pullman the day when
Thanksgiving break starts. Our members will then run the game ball across
the state to raise money for the Fisher House Foundation. Kappa Sigma's Military Heroes Campaign was designed to honor & aid
the thousands of wounded military veterans returning from active duty. The
Military Heroes Campaign provides charitable donations to organizations such as
the Fisher House. The Fisher House Foundation is a segment of the Intrepid
Fallen Heroes Fund that provides free housing to wounded veterans & their
families throughout the duration of rehabilitation.
The Fisher House Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides a network of 38 comfort homes on the grounds of military and VA medical centers. The houses are 5,000 to 16,000 square foot units, with up to 21 suites, which are donated to the military and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Foundation also provides additional support to the families of these service men & women who are receiving medical care & rehabilitation. Further information on the work of the Fisher House Foundation can be found atwww.FisherHouse.org or by calling (888) [phone redacted].
We will be running the ball from Martin Stadium in Pullman to Husky Stadium in Seattle. In the past 35 years we have raised over $150,000 during our Apple Cup runs. It is the longest running philanthropy event in the state of Washington. This year our goal is around $5,000-$7,000.
