Update July 16
I have been going to a wound care specialist every other week since April, and we have determined that on the week of the 29th I will be getting a cast on my foot with hopes that my wound will finally be able to heal properly. With me having a cast on I will be immobilized for a few days and Kevin will be taking time off to stay home and help me. I have had a few infections since getting out of the hospital in March. I'm still having no luck on the job front but I'm going to keep on trying.
update March 4th. I'm back in the hospital with another infection and will be admitted once again. I don't see me going back to work anytime soon. I hate asking for help but it what it is. I'm hoping with my new insurance it will cover the medical needs that I need unlike my last insurance. I really believe if my old insurance would have covered my medical needs that I needed such as medicine and home health I would be not back in the hospital and quite possibly back at work. I love all of you and thank you for being amazing cheerleaders.
Update January 7th
I went to the doctor on Friday and they are still worried about my foot since there is an abcess, they prescribed me two more antibiotics hoping that it doesn't get infected. I'm still not able to put weight on it, so if I have to I walk on my heel but most of the time I use a wheelchair or electric scooter when I'm grocery shopping. I hoping to get back to work sometime next month but that's being hopefull. I never thought that I would be missing this much work. My FMLA has expired so technically I'm on a leave of absence. I miss being active, my residents, and spending time with my friends. I appreciate all the love and support.
I am Chris and on October 3rd I was admitted to the hospital with an infection in my left big toe and since I'm diabetic the best course of action was to amputate it as a result. I have exhausted my pto and sick time and currently on FMLA until December 27th and then I will be on leave of absence from my job. On October 20 my mother died unexpectedly so I am stressed to process that as well...if you can help I would truly appreciate it....every little bit helps. THANK YOU..MUCH LOVE
Update I went to the doctor and as of November 24, I'm still not able to put weight on my foot. I have home health coming three times a week to change the bandages around my foot, and starting next week I will have physical therapy come and help me to stay strong and eventually help me to learn how to walk again. I was hoping to go back to work by Christmas but I don't think that's going to happen. I go back to the podiatrist on the 11th of next month. In good news I have an appointment with my PCP on Monday November 27th so that will help me get updated on the medications that I need, insulin, gabapentin, zoloft, ect...
Update December 20th
my podiatrist saw another abcess on my foot and is concerned, he put antibiotic on it and I'm supposed to go back and see him on tomorrow...honestly it doesn't sound good from the way he was sounding that why I said about being optimistic about going back to work on the 15th of next month....I guess we will see...but I doubt I will be back by then....the doctor said my body just keeps throwing curve balls at me and he might have to amputate more of my foot!!! prayers please!!
I truly appreciate everyone who has reached out, donated or encouraged me through out the last two months, thank you all for your continued support. Much love
