From Mr. Kent Burke: Here goes. I'm going through my friends list and trying to remember as many of my former students as I can. First, I'm not the begging type. But things have gotten "weird" down here in Florida. I have been unable to pay my full rent for several months. This morning, my landlord dropped the gauntlet and told me I have to pay him a pretty substantial by mid-next week, or I'm homeless. I'm now 66 and that would not be good for my health. I need whatever each of you can afford ASAP. Please. My next step is selling my car, which would leave me isolated to where I could not get to work at my minimum wage job. I've been waiting for a final settlement from my late father's estate but that is taking way longer than anticipated. Again, I really need your help. Thank you all. Also, if any of you know some Eagles I missed, please reach out to them for me. Again, thank you and God's richest blessings to you. _______________________________________ Hello Eagles and friends... We have all hit hard times at some point in our lives. Looking back, music and friendship have kept us going to get through the worst of it. (Former Music Teacher Mr. Kent Burke of Marshall Fundamental High School in Pasadena) has passionately stayed touch with most of us over the years giving us advice or just being there for support when WE have needed it. It is our turn to help a fellow EAGLE and teacher/friend through this rough weather and make sure we don't forget that "once a teacher, always a teacher".
