Hello, my name is Yuri Williams from Los Angeles, California.
I am here to ask for your support on a mission that has been placed on me before I even knew it. In June 2007 there was a traumatic incident that occured in my life were i was asked to seek therapy.
I attended the therapy sessions for several weeks and it has help build me up to this person i have become today. I was going thru some papers recently and I found an assignment from the therapy sessions. The homework assignment was to think of one thing that you wanted to do in your life that could help somoene else. So the next day we went around the session and my answer was I wanted to go to all 50 states and hug 1 person from each state. I have no idea why I said that but that was my answer at the time. Years passed on and in June 2009 I lost my mother to a 8 years fight to #cancer. Day after day would pass by I could smile and laugh with family and friends but inside the hurt of losing her was eating me inside everyday for 5 years. This one particular day before work I decided to open a Facebook account . Officer Tommy Norman Page popped up and I began to watch these videos and they made me laugh before work. The videos really helped me get back to normal. I saw what he did and it woke me up, because I do the same thing for the homeless and children. This is when i came up with the idea to push my mission more and advocate for childhood cancer, children with disabilities,bullies, veterans,all children and the homeless.
It’s strange but everyday before i go to bed my mind is just running wild with ideas to help others. I feel my mother did the best job of raising me to be who i have become. It is very important to me that i continue her legacy thru my mission of helping others because she helped so many people as a Probation Officer while here on earth.
This trip has become very important to me because there has been several times in my life I have looked passed the signals and my calling from GOD. But from what I wrote years ago in therapy session til now and Rodneysmithjr asking me to join the 50 states tour I don't know what else to say but this is a signal from above.
I love giving back and this has become my therapy to myself and hopefully this tour we can meet and uplift that one person that’s in the tunnel ready to come out to the light.
I am doing this to honor my mother, and all the people battling cancer,disabilities,mental health,bullied underserved or homeless this is for humanity.
And last but not least I must do this for my daughter she has given me permission to go forward on this journey, but I am also doing this to show her that in order to care for others you have to love and care for yourself. I am sacrifcing myself for 40 days to open the eyes of those who dont know about low funding of 4% for childhood cancer,people with disabilities,bullying, veterans and the homelessness epidemic going on all over the 50 states.
Last but not least your donations will be used to help purchase toys for the kids for the 50 states we visit as well as donations for hygiene, food,blankets, and other items for veterans and the homeless. The donations received will also help with hotel stays,gas,car rental,food and any other items we will needed to complete this 50 states mission............
