'5' for Jigsaw Challenge
Hi everyone,
NUI Galway & UL Handball Clubs have decided to put the rivalry to bed for one week. We will be coming together from the 15th - 19th of February to raise funds for a very worthy cause, JIGSAW Galway & Limerick.
JIGSAW offers mental health advice and support, online and in person to young people across Ireland, aged 12-25.
February is usually a busy month for us on the Collegiate Handball scene, between keeping up with course work, training for the Irish Collegiates, and taking the trip across the pond to the US Collegiates. If it wasn't for Covid-19 , both clubs would be setting sail for Missouri, USA for the US Collegiates on the 15th Feb
So.. to brighten the mood, we have decided to challenge ourselves with the #5forJigsaw Challenge.
Each day, there will be a new challenge while encouraging you to donate to JIGSAW Galway & Limerick.
Why not join us and take part in our virtual challenges! (Days 1-4 are open to ALL)
We will post the Top 5 results at the end of the day so we look forward to seeing everyone take part and your attempts at the challenges!
Day 1 - NUIG to UL Steps Challenge - The aim of this event is to get out & about (within your 5K) and try and get in as much steps as possible! There is 119km (156,200 steps) between the NUI Galway and UL Sports arenas. Can you help us reach the goal by 9pm Monday evening? If you would like to take park, post your progress on your own social media with the #5forJigsaw Hashtag or you can send us your results privately!
Day 2 - Homecourt Challenge - Download the Homecourt app on an IOS Device and follow the instructions in the tutorial video that will be posted on our social media pages on Tuesday morning!
Day 3- Killshot Challenge - Back to basic's for Challenge No.3. Find a bottle and put it up against a wall, take a few steps back and showing us your best handball skills, try and knock the bottle over ! Again, we would love to see your attempts on social media with the #5forJigsaw hashtag!
Day 4 - Jigsaw4Jigsaw! - Yes, you have read that right! It's time to take down the dusty jigsaw's out of the cupboard. You have trained for this since you were a toddler ! Keep it simple, it doesn't have to be any complicated 1000 piece 'Cliff's of Moher' jigsaw, the funnier the better!!
The objective here is to put those phones down, to take some time out of your day to concentrate and turn what can look to be a complete mess in the beginning, piece by piece, into an achievement. Ask your family/housemates for help, together you can solve the puzzle.

Day 5 - Intervarsity Quiz! -
The final challenge is for our past and current ICHA Members, The ICHA table quiz is an event we look forward to every ear, to laugh, socialise and challenge ourselves with our fellow collegiate handball members from all over Ireland after a weekend of battling on the courts.
Sadly we havn't had an Intervarsity since Feburary 2020, therefore to keep spirits high we've decided to host a Zoom quiz in aid of JIGSAW Galway and Limerick for the ICHA members and remind you all that we are still here and looking forward to future battles on the court !
The quiz will take place on Zoom for past and current ICHA members at 7:30pm on the 19th/Day 5 of the challenge. All you have to do, is let us know!
