Therapeutic Supplies to Uganda
Donation protected
John Mark & Karen are
headed back to Jinja, Uganda in a few short weeks (November 19th). Karen & John Mark will be working with a non-profit organization in Jinja,
Uganda. Karen (clinical psychologist) will be providing professional training
to mentors/social workers and staff who work with children in villages
surrounding Jinja, Uganda. Most children in these areas have been exposed to
extreme poverty and the traumatic situations that can arise from such
conditions. Clinical training will focus on aspects of healthy development,
attachment, ways to engage/work with children in a counseling setting, HIV
stigma, and the importance of self-care for clinicians who work in high stress
and high trauma settings. John Mark (pastor & teacher) will be involved in
community outreach, and he will be providing pastoral training to leaders of
the non-profit organization who disciple young men in Jinja. Please join us in
prayer over this opportunity. Please pray for this specific ministry in Uganda,
and please pray that God would use John Mark and Karen's professional training
& gifts for His Glory during this trip. "¨Financial donations will help to
cover the cost of training supplies, therapeutic materials & resources, and
cost of extra luggage. If donations exceed $1500, the remaining donations
will help cover the airfare & lodging for John Mark & Karen. Please feel
free to share this page with your friends and family as well. Thank you so very
much!
