A Home For The Holidays

It’s been a heck of a year, hasn’t it? 2017 wasn’t very good to anyone, it seems, and we’re no exception. September saw my family losing our home, and currently my 8yr old son, mother, brother, and I are living in a hotel. After a few months of searching, applying, and being let down, we’ve found a house whose sellers accepted our offer (a light at the end of the tunnel!), but paying for the hotel and food every day has sapped the money we had set aside for things like flood/homeowner’s insurance and the down payment for the house. Now we’re in the even more uncomfortable position of trying to quickly replenish this money or risk losing the house altogether. As you can imagine, being stuck in a hotel room for several months has taken a toll on us all, not least of all is my son, whose usually bright and cheerful demeanor has sunk to irritable, uncooperative, and just all-around sad. I’m not generally one to indicate that I’m in need, let alone ask for help, especially on such a large scale, but I’m doing anything and everything I can for the sake of my son, even if it means choking on a lump of pride in the process. If you can do anything at all, no matter how small, just know that it will be appreciated more than my words could ever express...and I thank you sincerely for even taking a moment to read through this plea for help. <3
