A Dream of Passion

My name is Chalan Cunningham and I am hoping to raise enough funds to continue my education at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. In August I was accepted into one of the most prestigious acting institutes in the world. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to lay a solid foundation for a career in the profession that, until now, I have only dreamt of pursuing. I seek to become a journeyman in an art form who's work I feel naturally motivated and equipped to do.
Over the past few years doing conservation work I was able to save $10,000, enough to pay for my first trimester, move, and get settled in New York. I began class in September and have found myself well regarded by the faculty. I attend class four days a week and bus tables the remaining three days to support myself. I need to make two more payments of $5,500 to get through the year, after which the possibility of a scholarship exists. The training and opportunity I am receiving here are invaluable to me.
I believe that good film and theatre can create some of the most moving and involving experiences art has to offer. They bring us back to the amazing depth of our humanity. This is rarely achieved without the use of good actors. By diligently honing my craft I hope to help provide the audience with these experiences.
In order to stay enrolled I am humbly seeking the charity of those who love me, those who know my potential, or those who would support the pursuit of dreams.
