Did you know that 815 million people in the world don't get the food they need to live a healthy life?
Did you know 66 million primary school-aged children attend classes hungry across the developing world?
In need of Volunteer hours?
Rise Against Hunger is a national organization that has packaged over 400,000,000 meals and served 74 countries. In 2016 alone, they served 1,040,351 people worldwide and distributed $17.6 million gifts in kind.
We have partnered with Rise Against Hunger to host a packaging event in Irmo! Our goal is to package over 10,000 meals to send overseas! In order to reach our goal, we’re in need of 50 volunteers and $3,000!
This event will serve as a jump start for a club that I am trying to organize at the University of South Carolina. We want this event to show that we are serious about ending world hunger and hopefully inspiring other community member to join us in the fight or even host their own events.
If you wish to volunteer, the event will be held on July 15th, at 3:00 p.m. at the Hindu Temple Cultural Center.
