The place is an outlying poor neighborhood of Montevideo, Uruguay called Piedras Blancas. This video describes some of the daily feeding of hungry empoverished children in a remote area of Montevideo, Uruguay. You will see their humble infrastructure, unfinished building projects, and lots of children getting the only food they will eat that day. There they also provide classes to help break the cycle of poverty, like computer classes and carpentry classes. You will see some playground equipment. You will see the children receiving a ration of specially vitamin and mineral fortified milk and fresh bread scraps donated weekly by a capital city restaurant. The need is great and the vision of helping thousands of malnourished children even greater. Help us finish this first phase and complete the building project and provide full meals rather than scraps. This first center called "Merendero Nuevo Amanecer" feeds up to 300 children daily and for many its the only food they will receive during the day. Then we will have a reproducible model to replicate this into many more such neighborhoods and break the cycle of malnutrition for healthy brains and opportunities for a better future for these precious children.
