Keeping A Father With His Family

Donation protected
On November 15th, my dad was detained by ICE while waiting for his usual ride to work. This happened just a few minutes before my siblings and I woke up to get ready for school. We had no idea what had just taken place. However,  my dad was able to call my mom. He calmly explained to her everything that occurred. He was in the process of obtaining a visa when he was detained. The reason: an unpaid parking ticket from the 90s. That is the last time we heard from him. My dad was born and raised in a really small and empoverished town in Morelos, Mexico. Access to food and education was and still is very scarce, and it is near to impossible to escape poverty. Twenty years ago my dad made one of the hardest decisions of his life. He decided to emigrate to the United States so that he would be able to provide for himself and his family back home. This was a decision that was not taken lightly, as he would be leaving everyone and everything behind, not knowing when or if he would ever see them again; not to mention the risks and uncertainty that he faced both in route and once he arrived to the US. He lived in Arizona for some years, where he met my mother, and where both me and my older sister were born. In the summer of 2007, we moved to Delaware. This was due to the increasing political hostility against undocumented immigrants and Latinos in general throughout the star. Three years after we moved, my baby brother was born. We've continued to live in Delware up to this day. My dad is the motivation that keeps our family going every day. My parents are both extremely hard working people, but there is no way that we can afford all the legal fee's that are needed in order for us to possibly see our dad again. None of us can imagine our lives without him by our side. My sister will be graduating high school this upcoming school year, and she can’t imagine this milestone without our dad. I cant imagine not having my dad present for my 16th birthday. My little brother is 6 years old and doesn’t understand what is happening right now, but none of us can imagine him growing up without his father. And our mom cant imagine going days without seeing our dad again. Please help by donating what you can so we can hopefully bring our dad home. (Please try to donate as much as you can, even 1 dollar will help us)
