Joan’s Journey

My sister’s story isn’t special, but she is. She spends her days unable to work , because the chemo puts her down! The thing is, she’s positive anyway. Mostly she is alone on this journey. She has voices on the phone, doctors, and injectors of Poison. But she is positive.
You see, she was my “mother” growing up. She took care of me. I want to take care of her. I hate that she is alone most of the time. But she remains positive.
She just had surgery number2 in August. She’s just finished chemo number 2 of twelve. She is the 2nd in our family to grow the dreaded colon cancer. She doesn’t want to be the 2nd to die from it. Her positivity gives us hope that she won’t.
She is working hard right now to keep the hope alive, therefore finding a job is difficult. She is looking. It would seem the big C can be a deal breaker.
For the next 5 months, the poison will flow. The daughter, friend, and sister-mother will endure untold humiliations and pain. So I’m asking YOU to please help us help her. She is so worth it!
Kind words, support and a couple of bucks will go a long way. Thank you in advance for the support you offer to a woman of kindness. A teacher of children. A loved daughter and sister-mother.
