Romanian Children's Relief

As a group we are working together with Fundatia Inocenti - Romanian Children’s Relief who’s mission is to support romanian children and families in need , and to prevent child abandonment. The vision of this organization is to ensure all children with special needs or socio-economic disadvantages to receive the support they need to achieve their maximum potential. RCR began in the spring of 1990 after the boston globe photo-documentary by photographer, Michael Carroll and Dr. Bill Griffo of New York Hospital / Cornell Medical Center, who exposed the plight of the Romanian orphans and the nation’s pediatric AIDS epidemic. Through public response a group of people in New England got together and formed Romanian Children’s Relief in spring 1990, which is a charitable, non-profit charity. This december will mark the third time I will travel to romania to work together with Fundatia Inocenti with a small group of others. Seeing these children is heartbreaking but it is reality. Through these trips I noticed how fortunate all of us are concerning many factors in life. The least we can do is try to give something to the ones who are less fortunate than we are. Fundatia Inocenti needs money, any type of medical support, and everyday products to carry on with their amazing work. The easiest is to donate money, which we will hand to Fundatia Inocenti personally this December when we visit and work with the children again.
