My beautiful daughter, Lisa Robinson, is suffering from Multiple Myeloma. The picture on the left shows my daughter as a very active, healthy woman. Now my daughter appears as in the picture on the right. She uses a walker, lift chair, and has other restrictions. She suffers terribly from bone loss and bone pain. In fact, she has had 9 fractures in her spine as a result of her illness. Lisa is presently in stage 3 of the disease and its progression is aggressive. The risk factors for my daughter begins with her race, as an African American she was twice as likely to develop Multiple Myeloma as are Caucasian and other races. Most people with the disease are diagnosed in their mid-sixties. My daughter is only 48 years old. She has four children ages 26, 25, 20 and 5 years of age. They need their Mother, we all do. Her battle includes fighting constant infections as the Myeloma cells inhibit her body's ability to fight. Lisa faces reduced kidney function and a low red cell count. She needs a bone marrow transplant to try to put this disease in remission. Her pain is unbearable to witness and as her father it breaks my heart. My daughter needs constant pain medication and treatment to provide her with some relief. Lisa cannot meet the rising costs of her medication and treatment. As her father, I try as much as I can, but my limitation is my age, retirement and limited funds. I am asking for your help in meeting her costs of medication and treatment. Thank you.
