Rebuild The Holden Family From Fire

This is so devastating to me, and it's not my immediate family but a family whom I have known and been a part of since I was 8 years old. We met in ballet class in Santa Rosa, Ca. My name was Kristin and her name was Kristin. And we even spelled it the same way... very unusual spelling the 'in' in Krist---in!!! She was a bright and spunky red-head with brown eyes and I was a shy blonde with blue. Whether it was our same name that instantly offered a kindred connection or just the raw and innocent friendship that so easily forms at that age, little did we know at 8, that we would be friends for life. Our beloved ballet teacher, Sue Borgeson would refer to her as 'K.B.' (her initials) and me as 'K.P.' We had so much fun dancing in various recitals together. As time went on, then came slumber parties at one another's houses and even shared family trips. I will never forget the summer (I think we were about 12 & 13) and I got to journey with her and her mom & dad on a coveted road trip from our hometown of Santa Rosa up to Oregon to re-trace the famous 'Oregon Trail.' While my family wasn't big on camping, I was enthralled that hers was and that I would get to share in that experience with her and her family on this summer vacation. It was sublime. We got to ride in the back of her parents covered pick-up truck. (at that time it was allowed and deemed safe and we listened to our favorite artist at the time, Tracy Chapman-'you've got a fast car' just about the entire way. All the while eating gummies and talking about our wishes and dreams. We had such a meaningful time and trip that summer, that no matter where our lives would independently lead, I always new we would be friends like 'family friends.' As we grew, so did our ballet endeavors. I had been studying for years at the San Francisco Ballet while she had stayed more locally. However, it was in my 16th year and her 15th year that our individual worlds would again converge✨. She and I again found ourselves at the same ballet school, this one closer to our shared hometown of Santa Rosa. It was the 'Marin Ballet School.' It was right around that time that my parents were divorcing and I was finding my own way every day to Marin to exercise my passion and continue my training for ballet and study there 6 days a week after school. It was so wonderful to have an old friend at this new training ground. K.B. aka 'Kristin Red!' Her parents (whom always opened their beautiful family home to me in my time of struggle during my parents divorce, entrusted me to drive their daughter Kristin to & from ballet to Marin, as she was a year younger and could not yet drive. We had magical journeys back and forth in my car. Be-bopping along to the radio and just enjoying the sweet energy that was our youth. Her family was like a second family to me. Their doors were always open, especially after my parents divorced and times were a little more difficult for me. I really appreciated that. Then came college. I left home and went out of state to Utah. But we kept in good touch because that is what good friends do. Kristin was a year behind me and went to the junior college for a bit. But she was craving a big change and a move and I was loving where I was at the University Of Utah and she liked the sounds of it... So she came:). It was so so great. We were again in the same vicinity. We even even became sorority sisters. Well, school years finished and she ended up returning to our home town of Santa Rosa. While working on her masters at Sonoma State, she met the love of her life, her now husband Nathan. Together they have two beautiful children Bryce & Faith. She unfortunately lost her Dad (Denny) a handful of years back to cancer. He had built their family home that she had grown up in. I have so many childhood memories spent there as all her friends do. When he passed Kristin and her Nathan and their two children moved in with her mom Karon. They added on to the home and updated it and the whole family has just always given it so much love and care. They had bar-b-que after bar-b-que and gatherings for celebrations for family and friends. Pool parties and church and social gatherings holiday upon holiday. They made such special memories in their home. Their home actually doubled as a school for their children as well as a home environment as Kristin devotedly has taken on the role of home-schooling them. This home when you walked into it breathes life, love, hope and vibrancy. With their 3 cherished family dogs, you were instantly greeted by at least one of them upon arrival. It was Kristin when my beloved grandmother past and I needed to find a quick home for my grandmother's dog 'Tina,' who quickly without a second thought said, "don't worry, we are happy to take her and give her a really good home." I didn't doubt for a second that they wouldn't do just exactly that. Because that is what this family does. They love fiercely, they do whole-heartedly and they act unconditionally. That is why I am asking for your help for them today. They lost everything. Not only the complete infrastructure but everything in it that makes your house your home. I have no doubt they will rebuild some kind of structure in time but right now they are left at zero. They will need just the very basics to get going again... clothes, shoes, kid stuff etc. Both children are very dedicated athletes. Bryce, a fierce little hockey player and Faith, a strong and graceful little skater. These kids love their hobbies and hopefully will be able to at least return to those activities they so live as soon as possible to help create a little bit of normalcy in their lives after going through such a traumatic ordeal. But they will need gear, skates, etc. Any little donation whether it's 5 cents 5 or 50 dollars I know will be so very appreciated and put to good use by this family. Even to feel support from people they do not even know will be a little fortifying and might ease just a fraction of the pain they are currently feeling in their loss. If I know anything about this family, they will lift themselves up by their bootstraps and will not let this get the best of them. They are even now even in the face of their tragedy trying to count their blessings that they are all alive, unhurt physically and together. Please help me lift this family up in their time of need. If you pray, please keep Kristin, Nathan, Karon (Kristin's mom), Bryce & Faith in your prayers. Please help encourage them with any small donation you may have to give a very deserving family. They are the ones who make this world a better place. Please let's help them today make theirs a little brighter and show we care❤️. Thank-you in advance for your love and support for this beautiful and very affected family. Let's help them pull through this most difficult time and show them they are not alone.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
