Please help Liam and I travel to Malawi. Malawi Children’s Mission is a non-profit organization serving 150 orphans in Malawi creating opportunity in which they can thrive. MCM provides every child with their basic needs of nutrition, education, health care and emotional support. They believe that every child deserves the opportunity to be all they were meant to be. My 17 year old son Liam and myself will be traveling to Malawi in June. I will have the opportunity to volunteer at MCM Academy, the primary school grades Preschool – Standard 7; to enhance their learning experience. I will train teachers and tutor. In addition my hope is that with other yoga instructors we can develop a yoga program for these children living with trauma. Liam will have the opportunity to work on several service projects, as well as the reconstruction of several homes. These are for child-headed households – meaning no guardians – just teens, taking care of themselves and their siblings. The cost of flights and lodging for Liam and I will be approximately $6000. We are also hoping to raise some money for Liam to be able to purchase materials to help with the rebuilding of homes.
