Emergency Move

Donation protected
The pressure is on to raise enough money to make this move happen. I believe with help from my friends and family we can make this happen. I am ready to be in a better place where we can be safe and have a better quality of life. I am looking forward to getting Lauren in a new school that will offer her a better quality education and a fresh start.
The stress around here (especially after someone threw an 8 pound rock through our window the other night) makes it very difficult to feel safe, concentrate on work and keep a positive outlook, but thanks to the generosity and positive words from friends and family we haven’t lost faith that we can do this.
I have found a prospective new home, I need to get out to meet the landlord. And, yes it is in another state. I have been looking everywhere in the USA and I think I have found a place in an area that will offer a better life for all of us.
My goal is to be packed and moved out before the 23rd of November (Thanksgiving Day).
When I go back to court on the 13th of November, the court will advise me that I have 10 days to surrender possession of our home to the landlord, the 10th day falls on Thanksgiving day. I will file an appeal on that day and maybe buy myself a few more days. But the reality is that we will have to move very soon and I hope we get moved before it gets too cold.
I need to raise enough money to pay first and last months rent, application fees, moving costs and I need to get some repairs on my car so it will make it. I still owe money on the car and have over 12,000 invested in the car or I would sell it. But unfortunately that’s not a possibility. Meanwhile, I have to keep paying the bills here until we can move out.
I will get one more pay check before my court date, which I will put towards the move.
We have raised a total of $1385 towards the $5000 goal, only $3615 away from our goal and estimated costs of relocating.
I know we can make it with help from friends and family. This is truly a emergency as I was advised by Legal Aid the landlord will regain possession of his home. The state of Tennessee does not have any programs that help people move by providing any financial assistance in situations where the landlord chooses to sell his home. The only reason I was able to get more time was due to the fact that the landlord did not provide the required legal notice, and I was there to disagree with him.
So I am asking again if you can donate “any amount is appreciated and nothing is too little” and or share our “Go Fund Me” campaign if you are unable to donate.
Again, I want to thank everyone who has already donated/shared and also sent positive energy.
I cannot begin to tell you how much you all mean to us!!
With Sincere Gratitude,
Jan
