Bring Them Home

Donation protected
This is my oldest of 6 brother's Enrique (Known as Pipo by his closest friends and family and Rick by his coworkers and classmates) and my sister-in-law Dorothy (known as Dot by her family and closest friends). About 7 years ago after retiring early due to two brain surgeries, Pipo wanted to move to Puerto Rico and the good wife Dorothy is, she said ok and they started their retirement years together along with their son Jay (whom is disabled and cannot walk) and their two dogs Riley and Iggy. About a year ago Jay had surgery and wasn't as successful as expected. The medical facilities are not as advanced as they are state side. They decided it would be better to move back to Hammonton, NJ. In the process of finding a nursing home to care for Jay and searching for transportation etc, the storms started in Puerto Rico. Fast forward to Hurricane Maria and most of you know by now the devastation on the island. I spoke to my brother today (Oct 6th) just over two weeks after the storm. Although they had prepared for the storm they never anticipated the devastation, they're running out of food and water and not receiving any aid whatsoever. It seems the northern part of island (San Juan areas) are getting the attention. People are running out of food and none to buy. My brother and sister-in-law haven't had access to their money as the ATM's are rationing amounts if they can access a working ATM and they're using the money for the generator to keep whatever food is left in fridge cool. They have to drive a ways to get cell service and when they do it's for a minute or two before we are cut off. We are asking for your help so that we can bring them back to Hammonton, NJ where they can get the proper medical help they need and help them with airfares and possibly deposits on an apartment (or any place that will accept dogs) Any amount you can donate will be forever appreciated. Please know when I mentioned I was going to do this - my brother started to cry and said he's never had to ask for this type of help. He's a very proud man and has always tried to help anyone in need. I'm not sure when flights will be available from Puerto Rico or how much but what I do know is that we need to bring them back before matters get more unsafe. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me via Facebook messenger. Thank you for your donation no matter the amount. ❤️PLUR (peace - love - unity - repeat)
