As most of you know, Martin was hit by a drunk driver while riding his bike in Vermont three weeks ago. His injuries were serious and we are lucky they weren't far worse, given the circumstances. He will likely need surgery to regain movement in his shoulder, which will also mean a longer recovery time and more time away from work than originally thought.

Unfortunately, the guy who hit him has a history of drunk driving offenses and hasn't been a licensed driver for over 35 years. We know now the driver had no car insurance and the owner of the vehicle he was driving didn't either, which also means there's no help coming Jill and Martin's way when trying to pay his medical bills and their expenses while Martin is unable to work.

Vermont has a victim's compensation fund, which should help with some small things, but they will be left with thousands of dollars in medical bills after their insurance covers its share. Martin is also unable to work during his recovery.

I'm reaching out to you all now to try to help them when they won't ask for help themselves. If there's anything you would like to donate to them to help cover his medical bills and expenses while he is unable to work, I know they'd be sincerely and deeply appreciative.
