Sophie’s Emergency Surgery

Hello, my name is Chris and for those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting Sophie you know she’s the absolute sweetest dog ever. She loves everyone, is always cuddly, sweet and kind. She doesn’t even bark at anyone or anything. We’ve always joked around and called her a human trapped in a dogs body. She is definitely our baby. Sadly, she hasn’t been feeling herself lately. After 2 separate ER visits this week the doctors concluded that she needs immediate surgery as her uterus is infected pretty badly. Now that she’s older this tends to happen to dogs her age, after their heat cycles.

The medical term is called Pyometra. Luckily, she doesn’t have a closed Pyometra but an open one, so at least she’s oozing out the pus and bacteria from the uterus. If not it would basically accumulate and expand like a balloon until it bursts, which is most likely fatal. However, she needs immediate surgery regardless and the sooner the better and these places are charging anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 for this procedure. Upfront. Needless to say we’re desperate and need any kind of help and assistance you all can provide.
