Christmas Angels

We are simple people who live in Tulsa, ok and we want to give back to those who serve and protect.  This is personal to us because the brave men and women in the Tulsa Police Department have saved our lives in many ways. They do this because it is what they are called to do; serve and protect. Christmas Eve 2016, I was feeling down and missing my family; then I thought about all the men and women who serve and protect us while we enjoy our family.  So, instead of getting depressed I asked my friend if he would be interested in giving back to the police officers working Christmas eve. We gathered what money we had left and purchased 5 quick trip gift cards. Then the search began; it took us hours to find 5 officers who were not on an active call. When we found them, they were all cautious until they realized that we were trying to give back. All humbly refused; however, we insisted and thanked them for sacrificing their time, family, and life so we can enjoy ours. For a spur of the moment decision we were able to reach a few officers and it was a great start. The following year was even better. Christmas 2017 we had a great night; we were able to reach the Broken Arrow Police, Tulsa Police, Tulsa Paramedics, and Sapulpa Police. The girls were with us and enjoyed passing out the gifts; they eventually approached and spoke with the officers without our help. The girls shared with us that driving around town looking for Police, Fire and EMSA to gift was a "great idea and it made them feel good inside". They are looking forward to next year and they hope to be able to reach even more. Each year we want to double our numbers and one day be able to have others share in this blessed event. We have never felt so happy by just putting a smile on someone’s face by thanking them and giving back. It was not much but I know they appreciated it because we took time out of our Christmas eve to share it with them. We were able to reach more than one town and 2 paramedics. The girls had a wonderful experience and hopefully they took away a gift only God can give them; love. Our new Christmas eve tradition is to give gift cards to Police, Fire, and EMSA who are working on Christmas eve.  You never know true joy until you give to another.
