Ashley's mission trip to Haiti

Friends and Family, 

For years, I have researched ways to combine my passion for helping others and travel and I finally found the perfect opportunity that also layers in my desire to pursure a career in the medical field.  This summer (June 12-June 21), as a primer for studying nursing at the University of Alabama, I will be traveling on a mission style trip to Haiti with Global Leadership Adventures. During my 10 day stay in Haiti, I will be working alongside local health and medical professionals in the field and helping to provide medical services to at-risk communities that otherwise might not be accessible.  Additionally, our team will focus on upgrading their water system to provide clean water for schools and the local community and constructing permant shelters.  We will also meet with NGO leaders to work towards addressing malnutrition, food shortages and lack of educational infastructure.  Sounds pretty amazing!

For me to participate in this opportunity of a lifetime, I will need to raise $3000 to cover the cost of travel, lodging, food, educational materials, in country guides and fees.  I am currently nannying for a family in East Grand Rapids to help with the cost, but I need some extra help.
