Durante el último año, mi madre ha estado luchando contra el cáncer, aunque su cuerpo es frágil, su fe y su espíritu son tan fuertes, si no más fuertes, que nunca. Ella continúa luchando contra esta desagradable enfermedad y se niega a darse por vencida. Al pasar por tantas cosas, me sorprende cómo su fe nunca ha flaqueado y cómo nunca se queja de su situación. Disfruté escuchando a otros contarme historias sobre cómo ella los ayudó cuando más lo necesitaban y cómo lo hizo con tanta gracia y amabilidad, sin esperar nunca nada a cambio. Ahora más que nunca, mis ojos se han abierto a cuántas personas ella realmente ha impactado y eso hace que mis hermanos y yo estemos orgullosos de ser hijos de una mujer tan fuerte. No puedo agradecer lo suficiente a la gente por estar siempre pendiente de ella, su marido y sus hijos. Mi mamá continúa siendo nuestro pilar de apoyo con sus palabras de aliento y el amor que continúa mostrándonos, ya que muchos de ustedes saben que los tratamientos son duros para el cuerpo y ella ha tenido que tener un cuidador de tiempo completo. Mi padre y mi hermano asumieron el papel de quedarse con ella y también asumieron la responsabilidad de cuidar a nuestras dos hermanas menores, que tienen 14 y 12 años. Comencé la página GoFundMe para ayudar a aliviar parte de la carga financiera por la pérdida de ingreso. Aunque las familias enfrentan dificultades, las facturas no cesan. Within the last year my mom has been battling cancer, although her body is frail her faith and spirit is as strong, if not stronger than ever. She continues to fight this nasty disease and refuses to give up. With her going through so much it amazes me with how her faith has never wavered and how she never complains about her situation. I’ve enjoyed listening to others tell me stories about how she’s helped them when they needed it the most and how she did it with such grace and kindness, never expecting anything in return. Now more than ever, my eyes have been opened to how many people she has truly impacted and it makes my siblings and I proud to be children of such a strong woman. I can’t thank people enough for always checking in on her, her husband and her children. My mom continues to be our pillar of support with her encouraging words and the love she continues to show us, as many of you know treatments are hard on the body and she’s had to have a full time caregiver. My dad and brother have taken on the role to stay with her and have also taken on the responsibility of caring for our two younger sisters who are 14 and 12. I started the GoFundMe page to help alleviate some of the financial burden with the loss of income. Although families face hardships, the bills don’t stop.
