Lo que Harvey no se llevó.
Tras año y medio de duro trabajo y miles de dificultades, la familia Leza-Sampogna estaba muy cerca de terminar de remodelar su hogar. Trabajando ellos mismos instalando paredes y puertas, pintando, puliendo y plantando su jardín. El sábado por la noche, tuvieron que salir corriendo del hogar de sus sueños tras ver que el agua en la calle subía rápidamente. Después de dos horas tratando de llegar a un lugar seguro encontraron refugio en la casa de un amigo, la cual se empezó a inundar a las 5 de la mañana del día siguiente, quedando atrapados en el segundo piso por varias horas. Despues de varias horas de angustia y cuando el agua cedió, pudieron de regresar a su hogar encontrando que Harvey se había llevado todo. Su casa y autos habian quedado sumergidos bajo 4 pies de agua, casi todo se habia perdido… lo que quedo fue la fe, la esperanza de algo mejor. Eso es lo que Harvey no se llevó. La fe de que Dios tiene algo mucho mejor para ellos, la esperanza de un futuro con sol y el saber que la comunidad es una gran familia que ha estado con ellos a cada paso de estos dificiles momentos.
Les pido su ayuda para que la familia Leza-Sampogna recupere el hogar que tanto trabajo les habia costado construir, para ellos y sus hijos. Toda ayuda es agradecida infinitamente.
What Harvey didn’t take.
After a year and a half of hard work and hundreds of difficulties, the Leza-Sampogna family was just about to finish remodeling their home. They themselves worked to put up walls and put in doors, painting and polishing, and planting their garden. On Saturday night, they were suddenly forced out as they saw the water rise quickly in their street. After two hours looking for a safe place to stay, they found refuge at a friend’s house. But that house started to flood as well at five in the morning the next day, leaving them and their children trapped on the second floor for many hours.
When the water receded and they had the chance to return home, they found that Harvey had swept away everything. Their home and their two cars were under four feet of water. Nothing worked and almost nothing was left … except faith, and the hope for something better. That’s what Harvey couldn’t take. The faith that God has something better for them, the hope of a future full of sun, and knowing that the community is a great family that has been with them every step of these difficult momments.
I ask for your kind help, for the Leza-Sampogna family so they can recover the home that they worked so hard to build, for them and their children. Any help is greatly appreciated.
