Help Jamie & Frank Rebuild

Hurricane Harvey came into town and destroyed our 'MiMi's (and Frank's) house. My name is Megan (aka Jamie's sister) and against her wishes I am creating this account. On Monday, August 28th, Jamie, Tyler, and I were rescued (Byrd Rescue rocks) by way of boat out of my sisters house which started to take on water. Floating away in the wind and rain with only minimal personal possessions was not an easy task. We left behind the boys and pets to finish salvaging as much as they could. Chris, Frank, Chloe, and Oscar were able to be rescued on Tuesday, August 29th. Upon leaving Tuesday morning, there was over a foot of water inside the house. It rained all day Tuesday, so we can only predict that the water level inside the house continued to rise. Due to the location, Jamie was not required to have flood insurance, so at the time decided it wasn't necessary. At this time the water level is still too high to return to the home to assess the damage.We have had several people reach out to us and ask how they can help! We have family members and friends committing to drive across states to help demo the inside of the house. We have gracious friends who hosted all 7 of us (Bertrand Family Rocks) during the past two days. As the days go by and the water recedes I am sure Jamie will have a better idea of what she will need. I have created this account to help her/Frank out with any financial needs to undergo the demo and rebuild of their home. Jamie has already applied to FEMA for assistance. Realistically with all the flooding in Houston it could be upwards of a year before they are able to help her rebuild. With their (Jamie & Frank) wedding being a little less than 3 months away... they have decided to do the demo and repairs as soon as they can. Jamie is a (mine an others) best friend, sister, niece, cousin, daughter, and most importantly a MiMi (Aunt)! She is selfless, strong, and has a heart of gold. Regardless of her trying to push me out of a moving vehicle as a child, she has ALWAYS been there for me. I KNOW she will get through this and be even stronger than before (if possible), but having this fund in case it costs more than she is already planning to spend will hopefully give her a piece of mind. SIDE NOTE: I know there are A LOT of victims of Hurricane Harvey... I have witnessed first hand, people that are worse off than her. People that won't be able to return to their home possibly ever, people that lost loved ones, people that could not get rescued in time, etc. This is not being used to compare to someone else's loss.... Just a way to help out someone I love who is in need
