Building A School In Whunga Zimbabwe
Donation protected
This past January I had the opportunity to go to the village of Whunga in Zimbabwe through the organization Houses of Hope and lay foundation for a new orphan home at the facility there. It would take many days to recount my experiences and how they each affected me. Summarized is this: I did not have a single moment which opened my eyes or my heart in any miraculous way but every second held a series of epiphanies which will leave me forever changed for the better. As soon as I got back to the states I knew that I wanted to go back and as things in my life progressed from January to June I felt the pull growing continually stronger. During the trip I became close with the founder of the organization, Bill. We spoke in June and he told me that they were starting construction on a school for the orphan home and surrounding town and I knew that was my que. As things progressed in my personal life it further facilitated my belief that this is something I'm supposed to do. My original intent was to leave after Christmas but after expressing my wish to go to Bill he said "how soon can you go?" to which I replied "my lease is up in November". I will be moving to Zimbabwe from November to Christmas and then returning after new years and staying until June. Any money you can give will help me and the community of Whunga immensely. I implore you if you choose not to give to share this with your personal and internet communities as much as possible. Bless,- Erik
