Dear Friend,
I trust as you read this you are happy in the joy of our Lord.
This year (2013) our Youth/Young Adult Department is planning a Mission Trip to Poptun, Guatemala. There will be opportunities for construction at the International Children's Care (orphanage) and ICAP (Instituto de Capacitacion Adventista del Peten) which is a boarding school for secondary studies.
There will also be a large Vacation Bible School program with a projected 250 children in attendance each day.
A Medical team will be focusing on the Mayan people of Northern Guatemala "“ many of these people have never seen a physician.
And lastly, the Outreach team will focus on two fronts "“ A. Evening meetings (with about 1000 attendance projected) and, B. In-Home Visitation.
The Mission Trip is scheduled for Thanksgiving week (November 24-December 3, 2013) and I would sincerely like to be a part of this group.
The total cost for my trip is $1325 with $675 to be paid by September 10, 2013, and the remainder ($650) to be paid by October 1, 2013.
You can also be a part of this Mission Trip. I am asking for your help in sponsor-ing me, and know you will be blessed as well as I, along with the people of Poptun, Gua-temala. Whatever you can give to help pay these costs would be so much appreciated.
