We're Back!! The same team who brought you #48FORFLOYD, #48FORTHEKIDS, and #RUNTOTHEPOLLS is back with their next mission - #48OPERATIONWARM
- There are over 1.5 million homeless students attending public schools
- Nearly 1 in 3 Black and American Indian/Alaska Native children and nearly 1 in 4 Hispanic children were poor compared with 1 in 11 white children
- The toxic stress of early poverty stunts children’s development, creating opportunity gaps that can last a lifetime and harm the nation’s economy.
- Poor children are more likely to have poor academic achievement, drop-out of high school and later become unemployed, experience economic hardship and be involved in the criminal justice system.

For this reason the 48 For Change team has opted to dedicate our next fundraiser to Operation Warm!
The 48 For Change team will be running a collective 1,000 miles in the month of January to raise money for Operation Warm, a nonprofit that creates brand-new, high-quality coats for children in need, offering physical and emotional warmth. All proceeds will be donated to Operation Warm—goal is to raise $5,000 (250 coats).
The collective 1,000 miles for the 48FC team will come out to 166.7 miles per person or 5.37 miles per day per person.
We'll be sharing our progress on Instagram (handles below) as well as the Strava running app. We'd love to have you join in for some miles, share the word or donate!

More information about Operation Warm: Operation Warm believes that every child, regardless of circumstance, deserves their own brand new coat. While other organizations collect used coats, Operation Warm works with manufacturers to create our own line carefully crafted winter coats.
