Help us save our property

Hello neighbors of Lemon Grove and fellow residents of San Diego, my name is Taylor and my family and I are in need of some help. We are currently suing the City of Lemon Grove because they are trying to pass the enormous cost of repairing it’s critical storm drain infrastructure on to my family and others like mine. The City has neglected the drainage systems that they use to carry their streets storm water away which have failed and caused 3 massive sinkholes in our backyard and only get worse with every rain. These holes are a danger to our family, our property, and have the potential to damage our home. We notified the City of this disaster and they sent Representatives to our home and denied all responsibility, declaring that it was a private storm drain and our problem. The City has relied on these storm drains to carry water away from its streets for the entire neighborhood for over 60 years. Since they have collapsed, all of the runoff is flowing into our backyard causing serious erosion.

 

We are not the first homeowners that this has happened to and surely won’t be the last. We are hoping to win this lawsuit to not only fix our damage, but to help others who might be experiencing a similar issue as well. If the City is found liable, it’s a win for every member of our community and it will set a new precedence for all residents of Lemon Grove. However, our legal fees are mounting and we are running out of funds which may not allow us to see this all the way through to trial to get justice not only for us, but for our entire community. My family is asking for any financial help as well as prayers to help us get through this. My husband has served in the Military for the last 18 years and has supported his country.  All we are asking is for our city to support us now.
