Miss Cali's Oral Surgery

We are the "crazy cat couple" - we have 8 cats (and 2 dogs), all rescued animals from different sources.

Five of our furry felines arrived in our back yard as a litter of tiny feral kittens in September 2009; we safely trapped them, socialized them, took them to the vet, and planned to keep a couple and find good homes for the others. But we couldn't part with any of them!

Then about 3 months ago, our vet tech who does rescue work helped us adopt three more little kittens who needed a home because their mama cat was on "death row" when she was pregnant at a "high kill" facility.

Both of our dogs also arrived from shelters after being way too close to death.

So...let there be no doubt we love our furry companions!

We just had annual checkups and relevant vaccinations for our crew, and our poor little Miss Cali - the beautiful calico pictured - has serious tooth and gum issues. Our vet gave us an estimate of about $1200 for the oral surgery she needs to pull some teeth that aren't growing right and to treat abcessed gums. 

After maxing out our Care Credit account and other available funds for the annual vet care for everyone, we just don't have that kind of money left for our Miss Cali to get the care she needs.

This GoFundMe idea was suggested as an option, so here we are, asking animal lovers who truly know and understand what's it's like to need help for our beloved pets and not have the funds.

Any contribution will be welcome, and if we manage to get MORE than what we immediately need, we will probably make donations of our own to the two animal rescuers who have worked with us.
