This is a crowd fundraising page for my friend, Janet and her grandchildren, Lillie 15 and Max 13.
Just before Christmas five years ago, Janet's Son (the children's father) died.
Soon after the funeral, Janet's daughter-in-law Tatiana took the children to live in Brazil, so she could be close to her family. After three years of living in Brazil, Tatiana tragically died in a car crash.
Janet flew out to Brazil to be with her grandchildren, while she was out there the children said they wanted to come back to England.
Janet only has a two bedroom flat which she shares with her Daughter. When they all returned to England Janet split her bedroom in two with screens so the children had a little bit of space each, Janet sleeps on the sofa in the front room.
During this time the children became very distressed, Lillie wanted to be with her Mum and Dad, she tried to take her life several times. Janet got her help straight away, Lillie had to go into a secure mental health unit, she stayed there for a month. When she went home she tried to take her life again. This time she was sent to a psychiatric unit for a year, Max has also received psychiatric care as an outpatient.
Janet has been trying in all this time to get them rehoused and after two and a half years they have finally been offered a four bedroom house.
This is the best news ever for them but they are having to move in with NO flooring, NO white goods (where Janet lives now, the white goods were supplied and she has to leave them there), NO cooker, the children need wardrobes, chest of drawers, curtains, etc.
Janet just wants to make a forever home for them, they have had no private space for so long. Janet only works part time so she can be home with the children when they finish school, so is finding it difficult financially.
Lillie and the family are still having on going counselling. This situation has been a lot of pressure and heartbreak for Janet and her family.
So now i'm asking you for your help, I am trying to raise £6,000 so Janet and the children can achieve their FOREVER HOME! So whether you are family, friend or a stranger, any amount will help.
