Honoring our Growing Family

We are gratefully welcoming donations to assist us with our home birth expenses, postpartum care and Baby Moon Time. The Midwifery and Doula care we received was absolutely priceless. We have also been supported through the use of Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Chiropractic care, Massage Therapy, and Counseling. It really does take a village to bring a child into the world in a gentle and loving way! We feel blessed we were able to welcome Willow Asherah Nash in the comfort and safety of our home without the use of pain medication or medical intervention. We have paid and are paying for all of these services out of pocket and through the barter system. We strongly believe it is important for all families to know their options, and have access to this quality of care without the limitation of financial fear.

In addition, we feel passionately about bringing some awareness to what we call "Baby Moon Time." In many indigenous and tribal cultures around the world this time continues to be held as sacred. The 6 weeks or 40 days following the birth of a child is an essential time for healing and bonding to occur. The family is honored with blessings, gifts, acts of service and nourishing food. The community is welcomed to share the responsibilities of the household. This allows the new mother to focus her energy on nourishing the baby and replenishing her body after the work of growing, carrying and birthing the new member of the tribe. The new father is encouraged to spend as much skin to skin time as possible with the mother and baby, a crucial element in the growth and brain development of human beings and animals alike.

After having the privilege of providing postpartum care to families we are currently reaching out for support from our tribe. We are already thankful to be receiving food through Meal train, acts of service, material items through the Amazon baby registry, prayers and words of affirmation and we also understand that people show love and support in different ways. It would be wonderful if we could meet or exceed our goal! This would give Brian the freedom to stay home longer without the pressure of providing and going back to work right away. We are working toward Sacred Economics, By Charles Eisenstein and planting the seeds of a gift economy. We are practicing the cycle of giving and receiving and asking for what we need gives others the opportunity to give from the heart and be more open to receiving.
