Wishing For A Fresh Start

Many of you have already seen the posts or heard directly from me of how my life turned upside down a few weeks ago. For those of you who don't know, I will try to keep this as short as possible. 3 years ago I moved to Kentucky from Massachusetts with my fiancé. Within 3 months of moving down here our lives took a turn for the worst when my fiancé's father passed away and his alcoholism went from bad to worse. The first year was spent dealing with a destructive angry drunk. By the second year alcohol had given him 3 bouts of pancreatitis, and despite his efforts he couldn't seem to kick the habit. Since the pancreatitis would make him so sick, his addictions turned to pain pills, cocaine, and then eventually heroin. To our surprise I became pregnant that same year and despite all that was going on, I was set on caring for our little one and making sure she had the best life. I have received no financial help from him for the past 3 years, and to make matters worse, I would constantly find money missing, or items missing from the house that had been sold. For the past 2 years I have helped him get into 3 different rehab facilities, and despite my need for financial support, took the rehab doctor's advice of not pushing him to work so he could focus on getting clean and sober. Last month, after being sober for 90 days, He put his fist thru our front door after becoming heavily intoxicated. After that dangerous incident I decided I was ready to move on for the safety of my daughter and I, but it doesn't end there. He destroyed the garage door which is estimated at $1500 in damages, multiple items have been stolen from the house including my laptop, and he got into an accident in the truck that is registered and insured by me.
After getting the courts involved for violation of our protective order, and receiving multiple felony charges, he is now in jail. I am still waiting to go to court to get custody of my daughter and begin moving on with our lives. Unfortunately this is going to come with a hefty price. I have racked up over $10,000 in debt between loans and credit cards I took out to support our family when he wasn't working( or was working and spent his money elsewhere) . In order to sell my house and move back to Massachusetts where family is, I need to come up with $3,100 to pay off a portion of my home loan before i can sell it. I will have to come up with $1,500-2,000 for a moving truck and gas to move back home, and also $1000 to cover my deductible to get the garage door fixed thru my home insurance. I have been blessed that my family has covered court costs and have helped with daycare and monthly bills when needed, but in the time it takes to sell my house and move on, I will barely be able to live paycheck to paycheck, and cannot save up any extra money. A lot of people have asked if we needed anything, or if there was anything they could do to help, and to be honest this is what I need the most help with. I have been strong for 3 years and will continue to be strong for my daughter, but I need to provide her with a better, safer life. I do not want anyone to hate My ex-fiancé for what he has done. Hate the disease not the man. For he is a great man that many of you will never get a chance to see because heroin has taken over his life. I pray that he gets the help he needs, for I know I have dedicated my life to helping him( even if it meant my needs being put on hold), and now it is my time to make sure that I take care of myself and my daughter. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your support. God Bless!
