Meet Logan...his smile and giggle is contagious, his brain is absolutely brilliant, he is loving and caring, and he is also autistic. He fears nothing, loves explore, and is known as the question mark by doctors, specialists, teachers and therapists. He has a brain and body disconnect like many people with autism. His body is in constant motion, making safety a huge concern. He runs from room to room, elopes frequently from our house or wherever we may be, he struggles with epic meltdowns, sleep and anxiety. The older Logan gets the stronger he has become and at times he can be super destructive. He has been through multiple medication letdowns and has been rejected from schools and programs because “his body” is too much to handle. We want Logan to have the best life and give him independence and success everyday because that’s what anyone deserves. Logan loves animals and response to them in ways we cannot put into words. We believe a service dog can provide him with endless opportunities and success. Aside from having a best friend, it can help provide us safety....our number one priority. The service dog can provide deep pressure on his body, helping him regulate, and reduce his anxiety in ways others and medication cannot. We want a better quality of life not only for Logan but for our family. Logan has two younger brothers and often has to miss events we know he wants to participate in. The cost and training of these animals is extremely expensive and we simply cannot make this happen without help from others.
