Volunteer Trip to Tashirat Orphanage

Hi,
My name is Omama Altaleb and I am a junior at George Mason University studying Public Relations, Journalism and Global Conflict Analysis and Resolution.
This June, I embarked on my first journey to the Tashirat Orphanage in Tepoztlán, Mexico (www.tashirat.com), along with a group of nine other women as part of Muslims Without Borders' Volunteer Abroad program (www.mwbvolunteerabroad.org).
The lessons and values I learned as a result of being around the Muslims Without Borders volunteers, the Tashirat children and staff really made a lasting impact on me. The children left an imprint on my heart and soul through their generosity, selflessness and kindness.
While there, I felt fulfilled because I felt as though I accomplished something greater in life -- making a difference and realizing that it is imperative to work on the self in order to truly feel satisfied. I feel as though my love for MWB and their efforts have grown as a result of getting more involved and seeing their work first-hand.

It has always been a dream of mine to help out at an orphanage. I am grateful to everyone who contributed the first time around. By going a second time, in December (12/26/13 - 1/4/14), I hope to foster the relationships and bonds I already made with the children and help maintain the orphanage.
As this will most likely be my last winter break of my college years, I want to spend it by doing something I love "“- volunteering -- and by hopefully making a difference.
However, in order to go, I need to raise a total of $2,500 for the trip and orphanage.
Therefore, I am kindly requesting that you contribute as much as you can to help me reach my goal, and to ultimately contribute to the Tashirat Orphanage.

Art and school supplies
Clothes in good condition
Socks, underwear and shoes
Individual size sheets, pillow cases, blankets and pillows
Books in Spanish or English
