Send Jackson to Harmons, Jamaica!!

Donation protected
This past semester, I was able to get involved in so many different organizations at the University of Missouri. I joined some student organizations, campus ministries, and even got involved in the Greek system at Mizzou. However, I was absolutely blessed to find out that I will be able to take a trip to Harmons, Jamaica over winter break with 59 other Mizzou students in the Greek community. I never expected to visit another country during college, let alone with other students that share the same faith as I do and the same willingness to serve those in need.
Harmons, Jamaica is a extremely impoverished area with an 80% unemployment rate. The needs in this community are very strong: most families live in small wooden houses that are easily collapsed and destructed during storms and hurricanes. The infirmary in town is filled with mentally or physically handicapped people who are forced to live there are often forgot about. Despite all of these hard conditions, the people of Jamaica are still able to have hope, and that is something I am going to have the opportunity to give them.
I will be serving through an organization called Won by One (if you are interested in reading up on them, feel free to visit their website: www.wonbyonetojamaica.com). This non-profit organization helps to build sturdier homes as well as donates medical supplies and basic necessities to these people in need, items that us as Americans take for granted daily.
While I am overjoyed and ecstatic to put my all into this trip, I am not going to be able to make this trip possible without the help of others. First off, I am asking for prayer. Myself and the other 59 students going to Jamaica are about to embark on a challenging journey, both physically and spiritually. We would most definitely appreciate your prayers before, during, and after this trip as we try to share Christ's love with this beautiful community. Second, I am also seeking support monetarily. This trip costs each of us $1,530, which includes our plane tickets, accommodations, community projects and the general support of Harmons. This is a huge cost for me, so I would be beyond thankful for any amount you can give. All monetary donations are tax deductible and can be made out to Won by One for Jamaica, and checks can be sent to me at the address at the bottom of this letter. I also need to collect 120 pounds of items to donate, so the money can be used for that as well! If you can't donate monetarily, I would still love your prayers and support!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter! I appreciate your support and I would love to talk to you about this trip if you have any questions or curiosities! Again, feel free to visit the website for my trip if you still would like to see more about this awesome organization. Thank you for everything you've done for me and being an important part of my life as well as the life of the Jamaicans.
