Corby is battling stage 4 hodgkins lymphoma . He was diagnosed in May of 2015 and is in for a long battle. He has worked for the same company for 18 years as a full time employee and his wonderful co-workers have donated sick time to him which is a great help. He served his country in the Army for 3 years before settling down in Tacoma, Washington. His extended family is mostly from Pennsylvania and Mississippi. This makes it very hard to help him in his time of need. Corby is an avid hunter and enjoys the outdoors whenever possible. He also enjoys spending time with his 18yo son who is a full time student at Washington State university. At this time Corby is traveling from Tacoma to Seattle daily for chemo treatments, which is a 45 min trip each way. He will be admitted to a hospital in Seattle in January for an extended stay for more intense chemo and to prepare for a bone marrow transplant. He will not be able to go home during this time at all, he will be able to leave the hospital occasionally but has to stay in Seattle to be near the hospital at all times for approximately 3 months. This is because he will have no functioning immune system because the chemo will kill off the good and bad cells. He will be unable to work for at least 6 months following his treatment. Medications and hospital bills are going to be very expensive.
