Help Julie Teach In Africa & Brazil

Donation protected
Hello there, my name is Julie Lynn and I am happy to be traveling to Zambia, Africa in October to volunteer in the country and to teach grade school. Due to Zambia's rapidly growing population and lack of government finances, most communites developed 'community schools' and have up to 60 students to 1 teacher.

I will also be traveling to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil in November! In Brazil, I will be in a childcare program working in community centers with babies, children, and teens. I will also help teach English to children and teens in the childcare program.

My goal is to raise $5,000 which will help cover my traveling and lodging expenses. I will also use the money to buy school supplies for the kids in both countries. Any extra donations, over my goal amount will go directly to the children in Africa and Brazil for additional support. I have recieved this great opportunity to volunteer in these countries through International Volunteer HQ, and any donations (big or small) are greatly appreciated and generous.

I will be updating everyone through GoFundMe before, during, and after my trip. I will make sure I include pictures and videos of my journey to share with you all the supplies being donated to the children and schools.

Thank you so much to everyone
in advance who will help make this trip possible for me. I am very excited to immerse myself into the culture and diversity within these countries. You will not only be helping me, but you will be helping the children in need in Africa and Brazil.
-Love Julie

I have recently just traveled to South Africa for two weeks in June to teach kindergarten in Cape Town. Please take some time to read about my experience.
At first, I was extremely nervous traveling to South Africa alone for the first time; I soon learned that I was in for a great experience. I was placed with 33 kindergarten students who taught me more in those short two weeks than I could have taught them. Most of the children had very little food, poor shelter, and minimal family support, yet all of them had so much love to give and appreciated everything they had. These kids taught me that the materialistic things in life are not as important as it seems and to learn to apprecite the little things.
I also got to meet a lot of great people throughout my time in South Africa which helped me open up to new people and new cultures. These people and the kids helped me to become a better person.
Since my experience in South Africa was so grateful and I learned so much, I am going to take this fall semester off from college to do some more volunteer work. I hope these upcoming trips will be an overall learning experience and to help me learn more about myself. Here are some photos I've taken during my trip in South Africa.
