Wheels To Go for Beaty Mullen - 39

Hi, my name is Margie Mullen and I am the mother of Beatrice Mullen. She is 39 years old and this campaign is for her. You see, I'm trying to get a van for her. My daughter, who we call "Beaty" for short, moves around in a wheelchair which she's had all her life. She was born with Cerebral Palsy and therefore has never been able to walk. She was also born with cleft palate from her lip to her nose, and born with webbed feet. About 2009, she had a drainage bag put in, as well as a feeding tube. Her digestive system starting shutting down and so this is how we were able to keep her fed. Around 2014 a trach was placed because she was aspirating; her lungs were overflowing. The trach was also to help open up her airway. Then, finally, also in 2014 she had to have a catheter because her bladder was backed up and she was not urinating. As you can see, my daughter has been through quite a bit, but what you also see from the picture is that she keeps on smiling. She enjoys the life she has as best she can. We try to go places, but it can be difficult sometimes in a regular vehicle, trying to transfer her from the wheelchair to the car. It is also hard to constantly unplug her feeding tube and manage her catheter and drainage bag for not only outings, but doctor's visits as well. We try to have some outings, but our vehicle is not the most comfortable for her. This van that we are praying we can get for her will be a wonderful opportunity to transfer her more easily, to bring her more comfort while driving, and maybe even take a trip to Disney World, which she's been asking for, for years. Sometimes Beatrice "Beaty" gets down because she feels she's missing so much and with a van that she can easily role in into, it's like her own little travel box. We are hoping, we are praying, and thankful in advance to and for anyone who has been so blessed and kind to help us get some "Wheels for Beaty".
