On Sunday, September 17th, 2017, Horacio Castillo III’s life brutally ended in the hands of his so called “brothers.” His was yet another life full of promise ended by sick and cruel hazing rituals.
His loving parents, Carmina and Horacio Jr. are in unspeakable pain and anguish.
How can this happen to their son? How can someone he trusted feel so empowered and so hungry for death? How can such a ruthlessness in a university’s back yard snuff out the life of their precious child? A child that his parents and family has protected throughout his life only to be killed by these cowards!!!
Horacio “Atio” Castillo III was living a second lease in life in UST. Just 12 years ago, Atio narrowly escaped their burning house by jumping from the 3rd floor towards his father below. With this gift, Horacio became a straight-A student, an obedient son, a caring brother, a loving cousin and a friend to all. A person loved by all, a person who had big dreams.......
Hazing is a violent welcoming ritual practiced by fraternities like Aegis Jvris. It is supposedly grounded on the 5 principles including godliness and integrity.
There was no godliness and integrity in the way they killed him and discarded his body.
While our cause has been recently publicized, we need your help to sustain our "Justice for Horacio" campaign including continued awareness for all victims of hazing and violent rituals. Your support is key in putting an end to this ugly practice.
